Is a skyline a car?

Since I last wrote, I'm sorry to report that the dove died, but it was the best thing, it was so badly injured. It seems to be my week for encountering dead animals, this morning I was heartbroken to see a deer on the side of the road, it had obviously been hit by a car and it's body unceremoniously dragged off the road and left in a heap. It did upset me to see such a magnificent animal destroyed like that. It didn't seem right.
The other day I had to take my car to Gerald's mechanic to get my brakes checked. They had been making an awful sound, so I thought better safe than sorry. It was the first time I had been there and he must have thought I was really silly. There was absolutely nothing wrong with my brakes, and he obviously wanted to explain things to me, so he said "If you have a look at the Skyline over there.." meaning his car. I thought he was trying to be polite and talk about the weather so I looked up at the clouds and made some arbitrary comment about the rain, he must have thought how dizzy and turned my attention to his BMW instead, after all every fool knows what a BMW looks like. I had to chuckle all the way home!

The wounded dove

Hi everyone, our roof is still intact, as long as we don't have any more torrential downpours, we should be alright. Apparently the roofers have been inundated with work since the weekend and it might take them a few days to get round to us, so lets hope for some sunny weather.
This morning, I was horrified to see another wounded dove outside our bedroom window, this one had been badly mauled by something, but was still alive. My poor mum went out there and put it in a shoebox and made it as comfortable as possible in some newspaper. We left it on the porch, where it can't be attacked by anything. From time to time I go out and see how it is, I did some healing on it, I don't like to think of it being in pain, yet it must be. In a way, it would be better if it died, nature can be cruel.
We are starting to receive quite a few entries now for our Groovyshoes competition! It will be hard to judge as already we have received some very creative masterpieces. Keep them coming, still plenty of time to enter. Don't forget to send all entries to info@clingmusic.co.uk with the subject tittle clearly stating it is for the groovyshoes competition. Have a great day everyone!

We have awoken today to a torrential downpour which has made our roof leak, I am sitting here writing to the sounds of water dripping into a bucket, I hope the ceiling doesn't give in.
Yesterday we went gambling and lost all of our money, I wasn't too impressed and wished I'd taken more, I could have played for a lot longer, it was actually Gerald who was the sensible one who said we should go. I was quite prepared to stay and try to win it all back. Still, I suppose we had a good laugh whilst we were there and afterwards we went for a lovely meal in a Mexican restaurant. I had to walk all the way back from the station in my high shoes, we had made a deal that if we won we would get a cab back, no such luck, my poor legs.
The rain is relentless, a typical Bank Holiday in the UK. Did I mention that Gerald has a bike now and the other day we went out in the forest, him riding and me running. It was great to have someone with me, but it must have been frustrating for him to keep on stopping so I could catch up. I could have actually just run for ages , the forest was so beautifully lush and green, totally different to a few weeks ago. It was truly invigorating and inspiring to be there.

Last night we were returning from a very long journey to South London, we were on the home stretch and just congratulating ourselves on how good the traffic had been, when there was a big accident on the motorway and the police diverted everyone off onto a tiny road, it was a nightmare, cars with irate drivers all scrambling to get in front of each other. Fortunately Gerald knew where we were and we managed to get away from all the traffic and find our way home, but we only got back really late and my mum had wondered what on earth had happened to us. Anyway , it was raining last night and I was pleased because the garden got a good watering. We were meant to get up with the sparrows today so that Gerald could test out his new bike and accompany me into the forest to run, but as usual we only went to bed just before dawn , so now we have rescheduled for when he comes home later this afternoon. I have spent the whole morning sitting outside, it is quite hot today, warm enough for Nyo to sit outside with me. She goes into a trance and is very quiet when she is outside, she really seems to love it. I went off into a deep meditation myself, it was very relaxing and soothed my nerves. It's time for a cup of tea, hope you all are having a lovely weekend too xx

Ley lines and aliens

Hi everyone, I have been making the most of the beautiful weather, I went for a long run then came home and mowed the lawn whilst Gerald was assembling his bike. I read today that where we live has loads of ley and water lines. I find this quite fascinating and now it all makes sense. Now I know why we had such an immense shift of energy when we moved. I used to feel it a tremendous energy all around me whilst driving through the forest, particularly in the early mornings. I was also interested to learn that this area has had a large proportion of UFO sightings, so rest assured I will be outside looking for my alien encounter every night. I truly believe that we cannot be the only form of intelligent(?) life in this entire universe. I would be interested to know what other beings would think of us and the way we behave. And I would love to see where they came from as well, how different or similar their planet would be to Earth.
Whenever I look into a sea of stars, it always looks so endless and I wonder what's out there. I've always wanted to know. Which is why I'm pleased that mankind has advanced to the point of where space tourism is now a reality. All I need now is a ticket.

Hi everyone, it's great to be at home chilling once again. I haven't been out in the garden today as this morning I went running , then I went to the weekly market, then I came home to meet Gerald so I could go with him to have the headlight of his car fixed. Sometimes even the most simplest sounding things turn out to be complicated. To cut a long story short, he couldn't get it fixed and has to go to his mechanic tomorrow. After all of that I felt a little sleepy, so I have perked myself up with one of those caffeine laced energy drinks that are probably really bad for you. There was a time when I used to drink vodka and red bull whilst out clubbing. This was before learning that it was actually quite a lethal concoction. Well, it was just something I read in the paper , so I assumed it was true.
We are going to go gambling this coming weekend. There is a huge casino in the middle of London and we just thought it would be fun to do something different for a change, you have to make your life interesting. And yes , I would like to win loads of money, I won't deny it. There are plenty of good things I could use it for.
Today, as we were driving through the countryside, I was still grateful to have moved to such a lovely place, and it sort of reminded me of home a little bit, just the open spaces really,
not the scenery. I realised how much my own energy has changed since moving out of the city, I was so tense living there, even though I thought I wasn't. I kind of look back sometimes at certain situations where I behaved badly, and I just didn't see it at the time. I was actually quite an angry person, I absorbed the energy of my surroundings too much, I am much more attuned to being around nature as it has a calming influence. I like to watch things flourish and grow, every plant and tree has a different story to tell, and on another occasion, I will tell you about some of them. For me the garden is a magical place, infused with magical energy and I guess that's why I go on about it so much !

I thought itwas fixed

Hi everyone , yesterday after I wrote in my blog about how well my laptop was working, it bombed out , just to spite me, I couldn't get back online all afternoon, we tried everything, then it just started working fine again all on it's own, talk about giving me a headache. Today, so far so good, but I won't get too excited about it. The bloke who fixed it is coming back again today to have a look, what do I tell him now? He will think I'm a dizzy girl, he specifically wants Gerald here . I don't know whether to be insulted or not, I mean I'm not exactly thick so what is he trying to say? Girls don't know how to use computers? Personally, I think he just wants to come back to look at our studio set-up. He seemed very interested in it last time.
I must go and help Gerald, we have a man coming round to take a whole load of rubbish away and out the corner of my eye, I can see Gerald moving it all. I did say that I would help him , so I better go.
It's grey and overcast today, but not cold, it's been raining, so I don't have to water the garden today..

Don't waste water, ok!

Hooray, my laptop has come back from hospital and for the first time it is working as it is supposed to, I can't believe how fast it really goes, so far so good. Woke up today to the sound of rain and the garden was having a good watering, which saves me from doing it. Gerald is quite flabbergasted at times, in Africa water is a sacred commodity and we were always brought up to conserve it wherever possible. I have therefore been using my bathwater to water the garden, employing the most primitive methods to transport it there. You may well chuckle to yourself, but with one bath I can water the whole garden. What's the point, I hear you ask, when England has so much water?? The whole point is that water is precious and you shouldn't waste it. One day it might be more precious than gold and huge wars will be fought over it.
In Zimbabwe one year, there was a terrible drought and huge parts of the country became like barren wastelands, without trees or anything. I remember seeing heartbreaking pictures of magnificent animals like giraffes, dead form dehydration. The rains never came that year and all the rivers and pools dried up. No crops grew and the people in the rural areas were eating roots of trees and dust to survive. The earth was so cracked and parched, you could almost feel it's exhaustion. See how much we take for granted.

Loving our garden!

Hi everyone, my laptop has been carted off to be fixed, I hope this guy does a good job of it, he said he could get it to work like it's supposed to, so hopefully I won't have to moan about it anymore when it comes back. Why didn't I sort it out sooner? I aways seem to be procrastinating about something, it's not a good habit. Well, at least I have made the effort now. Lets hopeI get what I am paying for.
I've spent most of today outside in the garden, all of a sudden I was compelled to study everything closely. The way the petals of certain flowers look like tiny sheets of satin, the way the trees dance in the breeze like ballerinas, the antics of the birds as they constantly search for things to eat, the angle of the sun at certain times of the day, how everything seems to grow in front of your eyes. It is very calming and peaceful out there, I have recently taken to sitting out there first thing in the morning, as the sun is just beginning to rise. The other day the sky was a pinky orange colour and this left a pinky hue on the garden as the sun filtered down in-between the trees. All the flowers and plants seemed to pulsate in this ethereal light, it was quite special and healing.
Tonight I have to get the barbeque going, the other day a fire engine came hurtling down our street, no doubt a cat stuck up a tree, or someone's fire out of control. I mostly eat vegetarian things but because of my hectic lifestyle, I have fish every now and again , in case I am not getting enough protein, which is what happened to me when I was a strict lacto-vegan for 7 years. I used to eat chicken , but saw a programme about battery farms and it just put me off again. I know you can buy free-range chicken, but I still feel sorry for them . Well anyway, to get to the point, I have some fish to put on the barbeque. Have fun wherever you are!

Still enjoying the hot weather here in the UK, it's fantastic, one thing you'll never catch me complaining about that's for sure. I've just come back from running, I've found a new place to run now, anyway, I really pushed myself till my lungs wanted to burst and I ended up drenched in sweat, but feeling mighty good about it. Still having problems with my laptop, but instead of trying to sort it out myself, (considering every time I tried to fix it, I ended up making it worse), I have now called in a professional and he will be here on Monday to help me. It was a last resort, but I just got so fed up in the end, it was like I kept doing the same old thing and expecting a different result. Now that I know someone is coming to fix it, it's not bothering me anymore. Human nature is a funny thing!
Gerald is scouting around for some gigs at the moment which means we will probably have to modify our live set, behind the scenes we are still working on our new tunes as well. Sometimes I get frustrated, I want everything to happen now, when I want it to. Of course I know that things only happen when they're meant to happen, but sometimes it's no consolation to someone as impatient as me. have a fab weekend everyone!

Storms

Today is beautifully sunny, I am sitting outside as I write, the sky looks clear for a change. Yesterday afternoon, it just rained and rained. Round about the time that the schools finish, there was this massive hailstorm and all the kids were screaming as they got pelted by the icy stones, it was quite vicious and I'm glad that I wasn't out running when it happened. I might have screamed as well.
One thing I really miss about Africa is the massive electric thunderstorms that you get there. As the atmosphere builds up , it becomes very oppressive, the heat becomes stifling, then all of a sudden the sky blackens and the rumbling thunder becomes louder and closer and a fresh, sweet smell precedes the gigantic raindrops as they start to hurtle to the ground. The rain can be so heavy that it is like sheets of water and all of a sudden the sky will become ablaze with the crackle and roar of lightening, it can actually be quite deafening. It is truly a magnificent spectacle of the immense power and energy of nature.
In Zimbabwe, many people are killed by lightening, especially in the rural areas. My dad always used to freak out because I loved to swim in the rain and didn't know what all the fuss was about! The water in the swimming pool was always warm compared to the outside air and it was always very exciting to be doing something that was strictly forbidden!
