Another gig over

Just recovering from our little gig last night, the days leading up to it were so hectic , with Gerald working on the set till 0400 most nights and everything else that goes along with it. I had a reiki treatment about two hours before our performance, the therapist combines it with a hot stone treatment, it was wonderful. I will definitely do that again because it really helped me with my nerves and I could feel the whole area around my throat chakra opening up as she was doing it, it sorted me right out.

As for the gig itself , it generally went well, but this time Gerald was having to deal with an antiquated PA that was really only designed for things like open mic nights, and he really had to battle with it all through the set to try and maintain a decent sound. is there any such thing as the perfect gig? I'm yet to find out. I really enjoyed myself though, lost in the music.

Came back home and Gerald was really exhausted and went off to bed, leaving me alone to watch a film. In the end, I went off to bed as well because as I was sitting there, I had a really strong feeling that something was in the room with me, not anything nasty, but you know when you get that feeling that someone is standing behind you? Instead of trying to find out what it was, I became all scared . Then when I told Gerald this morning, he said that similar things also happen to him , once something even tapped him on the shoulder!

Hello again!

Hi everyone, it's been a while, I must admit, but this time I am not all guilty. On the morning of my birthday our broadband connection was lost and didn't come back on ever again, forcing us to switch to another service provider, now we are no longer dependent on the phone line which is a relief, there' something up with it because everything that has ever been connected to it bombed out, I don't think it can handle all the high tech gadgets. These old country telephone lines were not designed with them in mind. Well, there was lots of shouting going on, I could have done without it really as we had a photographer coming round to take some snaps, my nerves were completely jarred and I really hate not being able to go online as well because I have got used to it now and we need the Internet to promote Cling, it wouldn't be so bad if we were swanning around looking for clothes or holidays. You would be surprised at the amount of work that goes into online promos and Gerald does about 100 times more than I do. It's very frustrating, not to mention that we were just about to release our new track.
Our photo shoot was successful, I have posted some of the photos on my Facebook page, they were done by Sasha Honn, we will have them up everywhere else soon, but if you want to check them out on facebook, our profile name is Susi Lavender.
The next day we left for Amsterdam which sort of took our mind of things. I really like Amsterdam, although it has changed a lot. I guess everywhere changes. I'm not sure this European Union thing was a good idea as now every big city in Europe is much of a likeness, same shops and everything, everywhere seems to have lost it's own identity to a certain extent. We did have a really good time though, I'm sure I will tell you more about it in the days to come.
We returned and ever since then we have been working flat out to prepare for our gig. What we started off think as small has now turned into something quite big, with quite a few people expected to turn up and it has created a bit of a buzz around town which is always good. So in a way , it was good that we didn't have the distractions of the Internet as it forced us to concentrate on the set.
Today was my Mum's birthday, she is at an auspicious age. I took her for a lovely English Cream Tea at a country manor, it was a truly delightful place, set in the most beautiful grounds. I think she had a wonderful time, we certainly ate every morsel!

Do you wanna dance?

Do you wanna dance to some funky music? Well get your groovyshoes on, Baby! I've got mine on to go to Amsterdam!
Last night I got stuck in the mother of all traffic jams, it took me over an hour to travel a mile, talk about stressful, I felt like I was stuck in the middle of Armageddon as the rain was lashing down like there was actually no tomorrow. It reminded me of a book I'm reading at the moment. The world's oil supplies dry up and everything starts to deteriorate, it is very realistic and quite possible. I don't think I would like to be in a big city if something like that kicked off, last night I was literally trapped in my car, couldn't really move in any direction, very claustrophobic. Sitting duck.
Thinking about our up and coming gig, we met with one of the organiser's and she says that everyone is really excited about us playing and that they have had lots of bookings already. She also asked us to play somewhere else in September, which is grand. I've just had some butterflies fly through my stomach!

Clingbusiness!

It's quite a hectic time for Cling, this morning I was out doing Clingbusiness, I had to meet a photographer that is going to come over later on this week and take some snaps of us, for the Groovyshoes back cover and general promo. Also I have been rehearsing quite a bit for our gig which is coming up really, really soon. It is for a Stressbusters evening, we will be providing some laid back entertainment for a group of holistic therapists whilst they treat their clients, it all takes place in a bar/ coffee shop where we live and we are hoping that it will prove to be successful as we can then make it a regular thing. So get yourselves down to Speakeasy, 175 High Street, Epping, Essex on 29/07/08 at about 8-830 pm and give us some support! Gerald will also be playing a chilled DJ set from 630pm onwards!
As for Groovyshoes, it just needs to be mastered and then we will unleash it online. I must say that Gerald has done a fantastic sonic spell yet again. I listened to it last night and I was blown away by the intricacy of what he does.
We are going to Amsterdam this coming weekend, I can't wait, it's going to be great to go there again. It's actually to celebrate my birthday isn't that so cool?

The marathon

Went on a surreal run through the forest a couple of nights ago, Gerald was accompanying me on his bike, we went much further than I have ever been running, way beyond where we normally turn back. We ended up on the road that goes down to the next village and to get back to where we live we had to go up this massive hill which even seems steep in a car.
The reason why I sat the whole thing was surreal was because when I got into the forest I seemed top be infused with an enormous energy and power, I could have run for hours, I wasn't even out of breath or phased by the distance or anything like that, I even ran up the hill faster than Gerald could ride. The next day when I got up , I didn't even have any sore muscles. I was shocked that I could actually run so far so easily. I still can't get over it, all I can say is that if it was all down to me, this must be the strongest and the fittest I have ever been in my life.
I think I was captured by a nature spirit who wanted to draw me further in to the forest to show me all it's secrets. I love the greenness of the trees and the dense ferns, I like to see the tails of the rabbits as they scamper across the trail and there is always the chatter of the birds. Gerald asked why some birds live in the forest and others live in gardens? I don't really know, maybe they are just like humans and some prefer a quieter life. I suppose they always did live in the forest and then humans invaded it.
